De Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) insyd Delta State, Nigeria wey na de Federal Executive Council establish den approve am during meeting of 14 March 2007 wey e admit ein first set of undergraduates insyd 2008.[1]

Dem establish de varsity under de Federal Government of Nigeria[2] initiative, make dem build specialized varsity insyd de Niger Delta make e produce middle den higher level manpower den expertise give de oil den gas sector.[3][4]

De National Universities Commission[5] (NUC) approve make dem dey share facilities between de Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun den Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun til e move to ein permanent site for development of ein main campus at Ugbomro, Uvwie Local Government Area Delta State,[6] for 2010 insyd.[7]

FUPRE, Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun be de first petroleum university insyd Africa den sixth insyd de world.[8][9]

University Library begin for September 6th, 2010 plus de assumption of duty by Principal Librarian, Mr. Mathew I. Okoh.
