De Ngmayem Festival be annual festival give de chiefs den people of Manya Krobo for de Eastern Region of Ghana. Nene Azu Mate Kole wey start de festival for 1944 insyd.[1] make e replace de ‘’Yeliyem’’ festival wey already dey exist, which dey mean say ‘chopping of yam’. Dem usually dey celebrate am for October insyd for Dodowa wey dem sanso dey celebrate am for de Shai for towns wey dey Somanya den Odumase.[2] De festival be one week, wey dey de last two Sundays for de month of October insyd.

De meaning of Ngmayem be ‘Chopping de new Millet’.[3] Dem dey take de festival commemorate de plentiful millet harvest which dem dey bell ‘ngma’ wey be de period which de peole of Manya Krobo dey take give thanks to dema creator for protection den plentiful harvest.[1][4]
