History

De university open insyd 2011 as de second English language university insyd Cameroon, na de University of Buea be de one up per til then.[1] E begin plus de Higher Teachers Training College den de Higher Technical Teachers Training College as de faculties per.[2]

Campus

De main campus of de University of Bamenda dey insyd Bambili,[3] subdivision insyd Bamenda, Mezam Division, Northwest region of Cameroon. De village dey along de Ring Road northeast of Bamenda. Anglophone area, dem dey teach chaw school kiddies for English insyd, wey de use of Pidgin English be widespread. English den Pidgin dey play significant role insyd community life, buh de Mbeligi language dey still maintain ein place as de heart language of chaw Bambili people.

Students insyd de Faculty of Health Science dey currently take studies for Mile 3 Nkwen Bamenda for de campus between Fonab Polytechnic den Saint Louise Higher Institute of Health.

Bambili be surrounded by number of languages wey dey relate (Bambui, Babanki, Bafut, Mankon, Nkwen, Mendakwe den Awing). Mbeligi be de dialect of Bambili, buh distinctly dey relate to de oda ngemba languages (den each group dey insist for ein independent identity).

De position dey follow by de pro-chancellor den next de vice-chancellor. Dem assist de vice-chancellor by de registrar.

De dean den vice-dean be in charge of each faculty.

De university institutes be headed by de director. Each department be controlled by de Head of department. De student administration be headed by Student Union Presido.

Admission

Dem dey do admission into de higher institutes/university colleges insyd de University of Bamenda thru competitive entrance exams wich dey involve written den oral examination. Dem dey require students into oda faculties make dem follow registration procedure wich dey involve presentation of results den study of files.

Pass insyd ordinary level English be major requirement give students from Cameroon. Dem dey require students from oda countries make dem possess proficiency insyd de English language; without dis requirement, dem dey automatically disqualify de applicant.[4]
