History
[edit | edit source]De UMST begin as private, non-profit making educational Academy, insyd Khartoum, Sudan for 1996 insyd. Na dem establish UMST by Professor Mamoun Homeida former vice-chancellor for de University of Khartoum (den later Minister of Health for Khartoum State).[4] Homeida sanso recruit several faculty members from de University of Khartoum.[5] Since then, de Academy expand to 14 undergraduate faculties, namely, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiological Sciences, Anaesthesia, Nursing Technology, Engineering, Computer Science den Information Technology, Business Administration, Economics Social den Environmental Studies, Mass Communication, den Law.[1][6] E sanso get School of Nursing Technology[6] den dey offer 14 Master's degree programs, four PhD programs den four postgraduate diplomas.[7] E cam turn full university insyd 2007.[4]
Annual student undergraduate fees give de year 2016-2017 range from US$1,500 (Nursing Diploma) to US$15,000 (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery).[8] Local Sudanese den international students dey bia de same fees.[2]

Faculty of Medicine

Dem equip de Faculty of Medicine plus lecture theatres den laboratories (Biochemistry, Physiology, Physics, Dissection room, Biology/Molecular biology den Skills laboratory). Dem establish de Teaching Hospital den number of health centers make e receive de students. Faculty of Dentistry

De Faculty of Dentistry dey conduct course of studies wey dey lead to de degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) to students wey dey satisfy de regulations den successfully pass de examinations dem undertake during five academic years. De Faculty of Dentistry dey located for de Academy Charity Teaching Hospital (ACTH), insyd Elimtidad, Khartoum,[14] den among heavily populated residential area wich dey guarantee excellent catchments of patients for training of students den within reach of transport facilities from de centre of Khartoum. Dem equip de dental clinic plus dental units (one unit per student) dey within de main outpatient department of ACTH. De Deans office, de lecture theatres den de laboratories dey insyd one block den within 50 meters of de dental outpatient department. De School of Dental Technology dey share de same building.
Der be two lecture halls plus capacity of 42 students each, two phantom skills laboratories plus 24 phantom heads for preclinical training insyd operative dentistry den prosthodontics dem fix, chrome cobalt /porcelain den acrylics laboratories each plus capacity for 20 students for a time.
Faculty of Pharmacy

Faculty of Anaesthesia
[edit | edit source]Sudan get lack of de anaesthetists especially outsyd de Center State " Khartoum " as few universities get faculties of Anaesthesia Sciences wich dey offer four-year BSc insyd Anaesthesia. Na UMST be de third University make e establish BSc degree insyd Anaesthesia after de University of Gezira den Alzaiem Alazhari University. De UMST program dey consist of eight semesters wey dey cover medical sciences den anaesthesia courses wey na dem approve am by de Sudanese Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Health den de WHO. Candidates dey graduate as Anaesthesia Technologists. De first batch of anesthesia students for UMST start dema studies insyd 2004.[16] Graduates dey use de titles "Second Anesthesia Specialist" insyd Sudan, "Specialist of Anesthesia Technology" insyd Saudi Arabia den "Anesthesia Technologist" for oda Gulf countries insyd.
Faculty of Nursing Sciences
[edit | edit source]De Faculty of Nursing Sciences start insyd 1999, as part of de Academy of Medical Sciences and Technology.[17] Apart from ein undergraduate programs, UMST dey offer two master degrees in Nursing (insyd community & paediatrics)[1] den PhD program in Nursing Sciences.[7]
Faculty of Engineering

De Faculty of Engineering dey manage teaching den research programs insyd de Faculty ein departments of Biomedical Engineering den Electronics Engineering. Dem design specialization-option courses make e introduce de students to specialization insyd specific areas. Students dey select either from among departmental courses base for dema personal interests top anaa choose one anaa two option sequences from among those dem specify by dema department.[18]

(Honors) in Biomedical Engineering (specialization insyd Bio-instrumentation, Medical Imaging den Medical Informatics) den Electronics Engineering (specialization in Communication den Control). De course dey base for de international curricula dem update top for biomedical engineering den electronics engineering top wey ebe according to de guidelines dem lay by de Ministry of Higher Education den Sudan Engineering Council. De curriculum dey include courses insyd life sciences, electronics, communication, electrical engineering computer sciences den information systems. Dem dey conduct de practical part of de medical science portion insyd de Faculty of Medicine laboratories den supervise by de faculty staff. De faculty establish advanced Electronics den Biomedical laboratories den workshop such as Electrical, Electronics, Communication, Digital den Bio-instrumentation, Biosensors, Microprocessor, Microcontroller & interfacing, CAD laboratories. Dem dey conduct all courses for English Language insyd.
Faculty of Computer Science den Information Technology
