History

Edey offer courses only up to de Ordinary Diploma level for limited areas of engineering den business. By de seventies, na der be need for skilled manpower for higher level den chaw more disciplines. Thus insyd 1973, de Bendel State Government upgrade de technical college go full-fledged polytechnic plus de mandate make e train skilled manpower up to de Higher National Diploma level for broad range of engineering, science, environmental studies, business studies den art den design insyd.[3]
Dem assign de extant law wey dey establish am go de institution de task of make edey produce well trained den highly skilled middle level manpower give de national economy insyd de areas of engineering, applied sciences den technology, environmental studies, management studies, den art den industrial design. Insyd 1994, de Federal Government take over de polytechnic from de Edo State Government.[4]
