Ga West Municipal District

Ga West Municipal District be one of de twenty-nine districts for Greater Accra Region wey dey Ghana insyd.[1] Dem originally create am as sam part of de then-larger Ga District for 1988 insyd, till say dem split off de eastern part of de district wey dem create Ga East District for 2004 insyd; dat be say dem rename de remaining as Ga West District. Later, dem split off de western part of de district wey dem create first Ga South Municipal District for 29 February 2008 insyd (wey later dem split am go two new districts: Weija-Gbawe Municipal District (capital: Weija) den de present Ga South Municipal District (capital: Ngleshie Amanfro) for 15 March 2018 insyd), wey Weija be ein capital town; wey dem later elevate Ga West go municipal district assembly status for dat same year wey ecam turn Ga West Municipal District. However for 15 March 2018 insyd, dem split off de eastern part of de district wey dem create Ga North Municipal District, dat be say dem retain de remaining part as Ga West Municipal District. De municipality dey de western part of Greater Accra Region wey Amasaman be ein capital town.

Dem establish Ga West Municipal Assembly for L.I 1858 for November 2007 insyd wey ebe de gateway go Accra for de Kumasi Accra route top. De Municipality dey lie for latitude 50°48’ North, 5°39 North den longitude 0°12 west den 0°22 West. Edey share common boundaries plus Ga East den Accra Metropolitan Assembly go de East, Akuapem South go de North den Ga South go de south den West. Edey occupy sam land area of approximately 305.4sq km plus about 193 communities. De Ga West Municipal Area dey plus de Densu River Basin, wey edey make am very important riparian zone.[2] Dem create Ga East den Ga South out of de then Ga District wey now ebe Ga West Municipal Assembly (GWMA).[3]
