Grace Omaboe (dem born am 10 June 1946) she be popularly known Maame Dokono wey be Ghanaian actress, singer, television personality, author den former politician.[1][2][3] Na she dey run de former Peace and Love Orphanage wey rydi e be Graceful Grace school for Accra insyd.[4] Organizers of 3Music Awards honor am secof ein achievement give de entertainment industry for Ghana insyd.[5]

Grace Omaboe started ein career insyd de arts by performing insyd school plays den local theater productions.[7] Ein talent den charm were noticeable from de beginning. Omaboe's first acting role go be insyd de Akan Drama Series "OBRA" wey dem broadcast am for GBC TV top.[8] Omaboe go be scriptwriter give de television series, Osofo Dadzie[9]

She attended Abetifi Girls Senior High School. She furthered ein studies at de University of Ghana, wey she obtained a degree insyd Theatre Arts.[10]

Omaboe go initially be writer for Osofo Dadzi top insyd de 70s wen she go be encouraged by Nana Bosompra to act insyd a series, wey she co-produced wey dem called am Keteke.[11] Insyd de 90s, she hosted a popular kids' show wey dem called am The Fireside for National television top.[12]

Omaboe featured insyd several Ghanaian movies, sana Akan den English. She starred insyd de 2013 short film Kwaku Ananse.[13]

Insyd 2000, Omaboe stood as a parliamentary candidate give de National Democratic Congress (NDC) insyd New Abirem give Birim North Constituency insyd de Eastern Region wey she came second.[14]

Insyd 2008, Omaboe supported de New Patriotic Party (NPP).[15] Omaboe claimed dat de NDC fabricated stories against am, wey required am to fight den win a court case brought against ein orphanage give criminal negligence.[16][6] Dem closed de orphanage down sekof dem dey operate without a licence.[17] Omaboe left politics insyd 2016, saying it be a waste of time, money, den full of people telling untruths.[18]

Dem select Omaboe to be President of de 2017 Golden Movie Awards Africa (GMAA) jury.[19][20]

Ein personal life

Omaboe has been married den subsequently divorced twice.[21] She has six children, two of whom be based insyd de United States, two insyd de Netherlands, den de rest insyd Ghana.[22][23][24]

Omaboe says she had a relationship plus David Dontoh during dema days on Keteke den Obra. It is believed dat de pair dated give about four years during dema heyday. Dontoh does not confirm anaa deny dem rumors[25] nanso insists dat de two be very good friends den particularly close during de period wen Omaboe was separated from ein first husband.[26] Omaboe den Dontoh separated nanso have remained close friends eva since.[27][28]

On de 6th of October 2024, at de Accra International Conference Center (AICC), wey Omaboe go be honored during de Ghana Women Awards program, she made a statement wey dey describe einself as a living legend wen she go be giving ein speech.[29]
