Ohum Festival be traditional festival give de Akuapems and Akyems wey dey de Eastern Region of Ghana.[1][2][3][4]
Dem dey celebrate de festival for Tuesday/Wednesday for September anaa October, edey depend for de month Ohumkan Festival go celebrate by de Akyems plus de Sunday for December anaa January for de people of Akuapem. Before de celebration dem go ban noise making for two weeks.[5] De people go thank de gods say dem give dem de Birim River. Dem dey use products from de land den de river as symbols take remember dema ancestors wey struggle keep dema society intact. De people dey make pledges give de gods say dem go continue de tradition den sanso keep dema kingdom strong den free plus prosperity den peace during de festival. Dem sanso dey give pledge of allegiance give de king plus ein sub-chiefs den elders for dema leader den guidance.[6]
Dem dey celebrate Ohumkyire make dem give thanks to God for de New Yam Harvest den seek ein favour for de year wey dey cam insyd.[7] Dem sanso dey take celebrate de Akyem Nation.[5]
