Priscilla Kolibea Mante be Ghanaian neuropharmacologist, researcher den lecturer from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, way dey Kumasi campus. Ein research work dey focus for alternatives of plant-based therapeutic options wey go manage drug-resistant epilepsy den de neglected tropical disease neurocysticercosis. She mostly dey explore de anticonvulsant activity of de plant alkaloid cryptolepine den ein solid-lipid nanoparticles for de management of neurocysticercosis-induced epilepsy for ein work insyd. Ein goal be say she go identify sam way way she go take help cryptolepine permeate more efficiently for de central nervous system so say ego reduce de risk of convulsion, wey ego make patients manage dema condition as effectively as possible. Aside from ein studies of epilepsy, Mante san work toward new therapies so say she go alleviate pain, anxiety, den depression.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
For 2019 insyd, na she be de only African recipient, den one of fifteen total of de L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women wey dey Science International Rising Talent Award insyd. She be de recipient of de 2018 L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women wey dey Science Sub-Saharan Africa post-doctoral fellowship insyd.[6][7][8][9][10][11] She san win de 2019 OWSD Early Career Fellowship.[12]
Ein Education
[edit | edit source]Mante complete ein secondary school education for Wesley Girls’ Senior High School wey dey Cape Coast, Ghana. She earn ein PhD for Pharmacology insyd from de Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology for 2013 insyd. Mante ein doctorate research focus for de use of Antiaris toxicaria as anticonvulsant, specifically for Ghana. For dat same period insyd she san research plant-based therapies give de central nervous system. Mante get ein post doctoral training for University of Michigan Medical School wey dey USA, wer na she be recipient of de University of Michigan STEM Seed Grant.[13][14]

[edit | edit source]Mante be pharmacist wey register plus de Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana. From 2010 dey go 2014, she work as pharmacist for Constant Pharmacy. Since 2013, Mante work give Pharmacology Department of de Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology wer she be senior lecturer. She be registered Pharmacist wey she be de current chairman give de Ghana Young Academy. Mante san be known secof ein passion for education den de way she dey lead women for science insyd so say dem go further dema careers.
