1964 wey dem form so say dem go carry cater dema members needs plus dema well-being. Formerly na dem dey bell am Ghana Association of University Teachers (GAUT), ebe expatriate senior members wey na dem dey 1964/1965 wey form am. Na dem dey organize film shows, musicals dance plus theatre performances make dem carry entertain dema members for de weekends.

R.G. Baeta, John Hyde and Yeboah Amankwah wey be senior members change de name Ghana Association give University Teachers (GAUT) to University Teachers Association of Ghana wey dema purpose be say make dem de conception for de association insyd.[2]

Dema Governing body

Dema spine dey contain president, vice president, national secretary plus 15 national executives for each public universities wey dey Ghana insyd.[3] Dema current executives be Associate Professor Solomon Nunoo, presido: ric N. Wiah, vice pee, Asare Asante-Annor, secretary plus Akyene Tetteh, treasurer.[4]
