Doris Asibi Seidu be Ghanaian educationist, social worker den politician wey serve as member of parliament give Chereponi from 2005 dey go 2009 as she die for office.[1] She be de first female wey represent ein constituency for parliament.[2][3]

[edit | edit source]Dem born Doris for 1969 insyd for Accra, Ghana. She study for Bimbilla Training College from 1986 go 1990, den Tamale Training College wer she obtain ein teachers' Certificate 'A' for 1995 insyd.[4]

For 2004 insyd, she contest for de Chereponi seat for New Patriotic Party ticket top wey she win. Dem retain am for parliament for 2008 insyd as she wn de seat once more plus 9,188 votes out of de 17,559 valid votes, wey dey represent 52.33% of de entire votes cast.[3][4] She remain for parliament till ein death for 31 July 2009 insyd. Dem hold sam by-election for 29 September 2009 insyd wey Samuel Abdulai Jabanyite wey be National Democratic Congress member win de seat. As na she be member of parliament, she help plus number of development projects such as electrification of communities for de constituency, building of schools den clinics, wey she san give scholarships to brilliant den needy students for de constituency insyd.[2] She serve for various committees wey sam dey include; de Education den Mines committee, den de Energy committee for parliament.[2]

Ein death
[edit | edit source]Doris die around 11:30 pm for Friday, 31 July 2009 insyd for Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital wey dey Accra. Reports dey talk say, she die secof severe cardiac arrest den heart-related complications.[4] Na she san get problems plus ein kidney, sam sickness wey na she dey battle plus for samtym. Secof ein health situation, na she be absent from parliamentary sittings for samtym.[3][4] She die for age of 40. She die lef ein husby den one kiddie.[5]
For sam interview bi plus Daily Guide for February 2009 insyd, she talk say; "ein greatest priority go be say she go make ein constituency sam peaceful place wer ethnicity go be thing wey e past wey she go san generate employment avenues give ein constituents; especially shoddies den de youth - (her greatest priority would be to make her constituency a peaceful place where ethnicity would be a thing of the past and also to generate employment avenues for her constituents; especially women and the youth)."[4]
