De Ghana Institute of Management den Public Administration (GIMPA) be public co-educational varsity wey dey ova four campuses (Accra, Tema, Kumasi den Takoradi) wey ebe made up of six schools, ten research centers wey dey Greenhill for Accra, Ghana.[1]

Ebe Nicholas T. Clerk (1930 – 2012) wey serve as de Rector of de institute from 1977 go 1982 wey name de location of GIMPA, Greenhill.[2][3] De name, "Greenhill", be reference give de lush greenery den hilly topography of de main campus, as well as ein location wey dey Legon which was historically on the periphery of the Ghanaian capital, Accra.[3] Togeda plus 200 state institutions, GIMPA successfully participate for Public Sector Reform Programme under de auspices of de World Bank wey ecam turn self-financing institution as part of de National Institutional Reform Programme for 2001 insyd.

Government of Ghana establish de institute plus de assistance from de United Nations Special Fund Project for 1961 wey na dem initially dey bell am de Institute of Public Administration, wey a ebe specialist training graduate school give civil servants wey dey Ghana.[4] Today, GIMPA dey offer bachelor's, master's den executive master's degree programmes for business administration, entrepreneurship, law, public administration, development management, governance, leadership den technology insyd.[4][5]

Vission: Say ego position GIMPA clearly as de pre-eminent Centre of Excellence wey dey focus for capacity building in leadership, management, public administration den sustainability so say ego support Ghanaian den African socioeconomic advancement.[6]

Mission: GIMPA ein primary purpose be say ego develop distinctive den capable public servants, private sector den non-governmental organizations’ leaders plus sam strong sense of humanity wey go support sustainable national development.[6]

At de centre of GIMPA ein logo be de tripodal tower, wey dey surge go de sky. Ebe de original motto of “Self Reverence, Self Knowledge den Self Control” wey dey inspire am. Dem take dis motto from de poem “Oenone” by 19th century British poet Alfred Lord Tennyson. De relevant section dey read:

“…Self-reverence, self-knowledge, self-control,

These three alone lead life to sovereign power.

Yet not for power (power of herself

Would come uncall’d for) but to live by law,

Acting the law we live by without fear;

And, because right is right, to follow right

Were wisdom in the scorn of consequence”.[7][8][9]

Borrowing from ancient traditions, these handcrafted ceremonial pieces create interest and respect by both participants and observers. They are important representations honouring GIMPA’s continuity and academic strength.
