De University of Cape Coast (UCC) be a public collegiate university wey dey locate insyd de historic town of Cape Coast insyd de Central Region of Ghana.[1] De campus get a rare seafront wey e dey sit on a hill wey dey overlook de Atlantic Ocean. E dey operate on two campuses: de Southern Campus (Old Site) den de Northern Campus (New Site). Two of de most important historical sites insyd Ghana, Elmina den Cape Coast Castle, be a few kilometers away from ein campus.
Na dem establish de University of Cape Coast insyd October 1962[2] as a university college in response to de country ein dire need for highly qualified den skilled manpower insyd de education sector. Na ein original mandate der fore be make e train graduate teachers for second cycle institutions, teacher training colleges den technical institutions,[3] a mission wey de two existing public universities for de time be unequipped make dem fulfill.
For 1972,[4] na de college attain de status of a full den independent university, plus de authority make e confer ein own degrees, diplomas den certificates by an Act of Parliament. Today, plus de expansion of sam of ein faculties/schools den de diversification of programmes, de university get de capacity make e meet de manpower needs of oda ministries den industries insyd de country, besides dat of de Ministry of Education. De university since add to ein functions de training of doctors den health care professionals, business professionals, administrators, legal professionals, den agriculturalists such as agricultural extension agents. UCC graduates dey include Ministers of State, High Commissioners, CEOs, Members of Parliament, den Ghana ein first female vice pee.

De First Semester dey begin from August to December den Second Semester from January to May. De university dey award Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Science (MSc), Master of Education (MEd), Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.), Master of Commerce (M.Com.) den Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees insyd de various disciplines.
M.A./MEd/MSc programmes go normally consist of two semesters of course work (nine months) follow by a project anaa dissertation (three months).
The Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) programme go normally consist of two parts. Part I fi consist of two semesters of course work give full-time students den four semesters of course work give part-time students. Part II dey extend over 12-months wey e be for research den presentation of de thesis. De Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme be essentially by research. De duration be between 3 den 4 years give full-time students den 4 den 5 years give part-time students.
