Wenchi Municipal District be one of de twelve districts insyd Bono Region, Ghana.[1] Originally na dem create am as an ordinary district assembly insyd 1988 wen na e be be known as Wenchi District, til na dem split de western part of de district off make dem create Tain District for 12 November 2003 (effectively 17 February 2004); thus na dem retain de part wey remain as Wenchi District. Na dem later elevate am to municipal district assembly status wey na dem rename am as Wenchi Municipal District for 29 February 2008. De municipality dey locate insyd de northeast part of Bono Region wey e get Wenchi as ein capital town.
Geography den location

E be bound to de south by Sunyani Municipality den to de north by Kintampo South District. De municipality dey lie within latitudes 7° 30′ South den 7° 15′ North den longitudes 2° 17’ West den 1° 55′ East. De municipality dey cover 1,296.6 square kilometres (500.6 sq mi). Wenchi Municipal be one of de largest of de 12 districts insyd de Bono Region. Wenchi town, de municipal capital, be 56 km from Sunyani den 29 km from Techiman. Ein closeness to Techiman, a major national market, dey pose chaw benefits for agricultural production.

[edit | edit source]A good human resource dey insyd de people wey dey Wenchi Municipal as dey depend greatly for dema level of education. Education be de most treasured legacy for de residents for dis municipal insyd wey esan be de only means thru wich development go fi go on.
Generally, physical accessibility to basic schools be commendable for de Municipal insyd. Dis be especially so for de primary level wer virtually every community get ein own Kindergarten (KG) den a primary school. Insyd 2009, na dem get seventy public primary schools den twenty-two private primary schools for de municipality insyd. Kiddies from communities wey no get primary schools no fi galley pass 3km so say dem go get access to education. De number of junior high schools (JHS) however no be equal plus de number of primary schools for de municipality. Insyd 2010, na der be forty public junior high schools den ten private junior high schools for der. Dis partly go fi contribute to de high drop-out rate wey dey happen for JHS level as pupils for galley longer distances before dem fi get access education. For instance, JHS pupils from Akete den Nyinamponaase galley a distance of 7 km everyday so say dem go attend JHS for Wenchi den Tromeso respectively insyd 2009.

Health care

Chaw of de endemic diseases, such as malaria, pneumonia, den diseases of de gastroenteritis group, na dem be eliminated.
Insyd 2010, na der be eight (8) health facilities wey dey provide health care to inhabitants of de Municipality. Out of de eight, na five be public anaa government health facilities while de oda three be privately owned. Dese health facilities occasionally refer cases to de Sunyani Regional Hospital. Insyd 2010, na de problem plus health facilities insyd de Municipality be dat two hospitals per insyd de municipality be privately owned wey na dis make de cost of health delivery very high. Na der be a total of two hundred den ninety-eight health professionals wey dey man dese health facilities insyd 2010. As of 2010 na der be:

- Four medical assistants
- Sixty-six nurses den midwives den
- Twenty-nine support staffs wey dey work insyd de municipality.
Na de Methodist hospital be de highest employer, wey dey employ about 183 professionals. Insyd 2010, na staffing level of de population to doctor ratio stand for 1:11,330, wich na ebe an improvement compared to de 2007 ratio of 1:16,176. Insyd 2010, na de municipality sanso get a population to nurse ratio of 1:1545. Even though na de municipality record sam significant increases insyd de number of health professionals insyd de past two years since 2008, de numbers insyd 2010, still no be enough considering dat de hospitals insyd de municipality dey serve as a referral point give health facilities insyd de Tain District.
