De Bolgatanga Technical University BTU, (formerly Bolgatanga Polytechnic) be public tertiary institution insyd de Upper East Region of Ghana, West Africa. E gradually dey increase ein courses den facilities dey follow de achievement of university status. Na dem convert am into Technical University during de administration of de former presido of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama. Na dem establish de institution insyd 1999 buh dem start dey roll out ein academic programs insyd September 2003 as Bolgatanga Polytechnic.

Campuses

Currently, de varsity get two campuses, plus de main operations for Sumbrungu for de Bolgatanga – Navrongo highway top, dem gbele am insyd 2007. Bolgatanga be de capital of de Upper East Region of Ghana wey e get population of under 70,000 people. De varsity begin as School insyd Bukere, suburb of Bolgatanga. De pioneer staff work from der til dem fini de Sumbrungu campus. Bukere currently get Evening School wer dem dey run both tertiary den non-tertiary programs.

Na dem found de school insyd 1999 under PNDC Law 321(1992) wey na dem amend am insyd 2007 plus Act of Parliament (Act 745). Dem convert am into Technical University insyd April, 2020, by de Technical Universities amendment Act 2020 (Act 1016).

Academic programmes begin insyd September 2003 for Bukere insyd. Over de years, de School den then University grow in terms of infrastructure, staff numbers den dema qualifications, academic programmes den student numbers.

De varsity dey run over twenty-five different tertiary programmes for BTech, HND den Diploma level for three Schools insyd;

• School of Business den Management Studies
• School of Applied Science den Arts
• School of Engineering.

Ecological Agriculture be de niche area of de varsity, wey dey situate insyd dryland region plus extensive cropping den livestock herding, relatively close to Togo den Burkina Faso. De varsity build industrial partnerships plus de Ministry of Agriculture, de Savanah Agriculture Research Institute (SARI), den de Skills Development Fund (SDF) make e improve agriculture for de Savannah region of Ghana. Dem dey plan Master's degrees in Ecological Agriculture den Agricultural Engineering.
