Gertrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo (dem born am 11 September 1962) be Ghanaian judge den author. Formerly a judge of the Appeal Court, dem nominate am as Supreme Court Judge for November 2019 insyd wey dem vet am for 10 December 2019 insyd.[1] Dem swear am in for 17 December 2019 insyd.[2] Na she be one of de first Justices for de Commercial Division for de High Court wey na she be active for de core reform agenda insyd den activities for de Judiciary den Judicial Service for Ghana since 2005. Dem nominate am for de office of Chief Justice for April 2023 insyd make she replace Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah wen he retire as Chief Justice for May 24, 2023.[3]

She attend Wesley Girls' High School from 1973 come 1978 wer she obtain ein ordinary level certificate den Achimota School from 1978 come 1980 for ein advanced level certificate. She gain B. A. for Law den Sociology for University of Ghana for 1984 insyd wey she graduate from de Ghana School of Law for 1986 insyd. For 2001 insyd she obtain Postgraduate Diploma insyd International Law den Organization from de International Institute of Social Studies, wey now ebe part of Erasmus University Rotterdam for de Netherlands insyd. For 2011 insyd, she graduate from Golden Gate University School of Law, for USA insyd plus Master Of Laws (LLM) in Intellectual Property Law.[4]

Before she join Fugar & Co., law firm for Accra insyd as associate, Justice Torkornoo job as volunteer for de FIDA Legal Aid Service wey she do internship plus Nabarro Nathanson for London insyd. She return to de firm (Fugar & Co.) for 1994 insyd wey she cam turn director. For January 1997 insyd, she co-found Sozo Law Consult wer she job as Managing Partner til 14 May 2004 wen dem appoint am Justice for de High Court for Ghana.[5] She job as High Court judge til October 2012 wen dem elevate am go de Court of Appeal. Dem nominate Justice Torkornoo go de Supreme Court of Ghana for November 2019 insyd.[4] Dem swear am go office for 17 December 2019.[2]
