Boateng be member of de New Patriotic Party (NPP). Dem elect am go Parliament for de first tym insyd January 2009 afta dem vote give am for de 2008 Ghanaian General Election. Dem san vote give am for de 6th, 7th den 8th Parliament. He defeat ein opposition plus 56.33% of de total valid votes afta de 2016 Ghanaian general election. He san win de 2020 Ghanaian general elections plus 11,245 votes wey make 47% of de total votes cast wey de NDC parliamentary candidate Dickson Kyere-Duah get 10,296 votes wey make 43% of de total votes cast den de Independent candidate Derrick Obeng Mensah get 2,395 votes wey make 10% from de total votes cast. He be de former Deputy Minister for Railways Development.[6][7][8][9]
