Rita win de Gushiegu seat during de December 2004 general election for New Patriotic Party (NPP) dem ticket top but she lose for ein next attempt for December 2008 general election. While in parliament, she double as deputy Minister for Lands den Natural Resources wey be in charge of Mines.[2][3] She be de current deputy Ghana commissioner give United Kingdom den Ireland.[4]

Dem appoint am as District Chief Executive give de Gushegu District wey dey Northern Region of Ghana.[6] She san cam turn member of parliament of de Fourth Parliament for de Fourth Republic of Ghana wey na she dey represent Gushegu constituency wey she serve as Deputy Minister for Lands, Forestry den Mines wey na she dey in charge of de mines sector for His Excellency de Ex-President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor ein tym wey now she be de Deputy High Commissioner give Ghana.[7][8] Tani Iddi san be Ghanaian politician.[9]

She win de elections plus total vote cast of 14,643 wey dey represent 52.80% ova ein opponent, Iddrisu Hudu of de National Democratic Congress wey obtain 13,108 total votes cast wey dey represent 47.20%, wey e make am member of Parliament for de Fourth Parliament of de Fourth Republic of Ghana.[10][11]
