Nanton District be one of de sixteen districts insyd Northern Region, Ghana.^[1]^[2]^[3] From before, for 1988, Nanton dey inside one big Savelugu-Nanton District wey dem create from the old West Dagomba District Council. But on 15th March 2018, dem cut the southern part give am alone to become Nanton District. So the part wey remain, dem change am to Savelugu Municipal.

Nanton District dey for the northwest side for Northern Region, and the capital town be Nanton. For that area, the main work wey people dey do be farming.
