De Western North region be one of de six new regions of Ghana dem create insyd 2019.[1] De region be bounded by de Ivory Coast (Comoé District) for de west, de Central region insyd de southeast, den de Ashanti, Ahafo, Bono East den Bono regions insyd de north. De Western North region get de highest rainfall insyd Ghana, lush green hills, den fertile soils. Der be chaw small den large-scale gold mines companies insyd de region. De ethnic culture of de region be dominated by de Sefwis. De main languages dem dey speak be Sefwi, Akan, French den English.
History
[edit | edit source]De Western North region be a new region dem carve out of de existing Western region of Ghana. Na de creation of dis new region dey insyd fulfillment of a promise de New Patriotic Party make prior to de 2016 Ghana general election. Upon winning de elections, de Presido, Nana Akuffo Addo create de Ministry of Regional Reorganization make e oversee policy formulation den implementation. Insyd all, na dem create six new regions from de existing ten regions of Ghana. De oda new regions be Bono East, Ahafo, Savannah, North East, den Oti regions.[2]
Health

Administrative divisions
[edit | edit source]De political administration of de region be thru de local government system. Under dis administration system, na dem divide de region into nine MMDA's (dem make up of 0 Metropolitan, 3 Municipal den 6 Ordinary Assemblies).[4][5] Each District, Municipal anaa Metropolitan Assembly, be administered by a Chief Executive, wey dey represent de central government buh dey derive authority from an Assembly wey be headed by a presiding member dem elect from among de members demaselves.
