Dis creation for dis new region bi in fulfillment of ein promise wey he make by de New Patriotic Party prior to de 2016 Ghana general election.[4] Upon he winning de elections, de President, Nana Akuffo Addo come create de Ministry of Regional Reorganization go oversee ein policy formulation den implementation. Insyd all, six new regions wey dem create from de existing ten regions for Ghana. De other new regions bi Bono East, Ahafo, Savannah, North East, den Oti regions.[5]
De execution for de plans for de creation for de regions wey dem ceded am go create new Ministry of Regional Reorganization and Development wey ein under de leadership of Hon. Dan Botwe.
